A range of kayaking options around Pepin Island, home to bird colonies and seal terraces, offers ideal swimming and snorkelling from secluded beaches. Also sheltered estuarine conditions for beginners and family groups. Multi-day trips by arrangement. Sea kayak instruction weekend workshops also available. Speciality: Only 20 minutes from Nelson but a world away from crowds, in an area with unique cave formations, fascinating history and clear coastal water rich in marine life, seals and seabirds.
