Watch or swim with wild dolphins in their natural habitat.
4 hour trips (approx) departing daily from Mount Maunganui in our stable and comfortable high speed 50ft Catamaran. Formerly the weather boat for the Oracle racing syndicate in the Americas Cup, it is a very well appointed vessel with walk through transom, comfortable couches and indoor and outdoor seating on the lower level or fly deck.
We cruise the blue waters in search of these magnificent and graceful creatures, as well as other marine and bird life. Being low to the water, we can get you very close to the dolphins for photographic opportunities and you can also often hear them communicating with each other. Whenever possible, we free swim with the dolphins or use our purpose built swim bar.
Trips are skippered and guided by marine naturalists who provide an educational and entertaining commentary. We aim to get you back safe and happy around lunch time before the wind gets up making uncomfortable sea conditions.
Education trips, cruises, dive trips and private charter also available.
Guaranteed sightings or another free trip. We are the professionals.
It is important that you realise that this is a trip of nature and although every effort will be made to find dolphins, we are unable to guarantee that we will. Currently we have a 90+ percent hit rate of locating them, this is a record we at Dolphin Seafaris are very proud to have. Should we not be succesful, we will offer you a free trip another day , but regret we cannot refund your fare.
Providing that we have the numbers and the weather is suitable we will run a trip every day. Unfortunately, due to weather conditions, the decision to go or not is sometimes left until the morning of the trip.
Advance bookings are essential.
So come along and enjoy a truly rewarding experience out on the sea, whether you would like to swim with the dolphins or just kick and shoot photos and enjoy yourself.
